Holmgren becomes President of the Browns
December 21st, 2009 | by adamburnett |Mike Holmgren’s sabbatical lasted nearly a year as he’s signed on to be the President of the Cleveland Browns. When Holmgren left Green Bay for Seattle he pulled a number of guys along with him to the pacific northwest. Business is about bringing in your own people. Holmgren has ties to the Packers front office with Ted Thompson, Reggie McKenzie, and John Schneider both serve as director of football operations. Packers director of college scouting John Dorsey also has ties to Holmgren. Thompson and Dorsey went to work for Holmgren in Seattle. Schneider spent a year in the pacific northwest as well. McKenzie didn’t go up to Seattle, but has been a candidate for GM openings. Holmgren had an offer for a front office position to return to the Seahawks and turned it down.
